Thermal Actuator

Overview

The thermal actuator, also known as the thermo-electric actuator in the HVAC sector, is a compact linear actuator that provides a smooth, powerful, silent, and gradual motion. The thermal actuator consists of a PTC thermistor, a brass casing filled with solid wax, an "elastomer bag," and a piston.
It operates based on the same principles as a wax motor. When the temperature-sensitive wax inside the actuator is heated, it expands, causing the "elastomer bag" to compress and push the piston outward.
At iSwell, we specialize in manufacturing squeeze-push type thermal actuators, known for their reliable performance and durability.
Thermal actuators find wide applications in various systems, including underfloor heating, radiators, fan coils, and valve controls. They play a vital role as core components in temperature regulation and control systems.
